Dino Crisis 2

From the creators of Resident Evil, came a game that shocked and surprised everyone. The premise? "What if we make a game like resident evil but with dinosaurs"

People laughed. Then they cried as they cleaned their shit stained pants, because the game was at all parts as horrifying as Resident Evil was. So Dino Crisis got a second serving of Dino horror with an action packed, rooty tooty dino shooty game, called Dino Crisis 2.

With a significant shift to the theme, being way more action oriented than horror oriented, Dino Crisis 2 is a continuation to the weird time loop our lovely protagonists got themselves into. With more dinosaurs, more guns, more stress!

All jokes aside however the game manages to keep the same stress and pressure of the first game, but with a significant shift on the style. So lets get to it

Spared No Expense (Gameplay)

The game has the same controls from the first game. Responsive, intuitive (for the psx era) and with everything you would need to effectively operate your walking dinosaur food and survive. That is if you manage to keep a cool head and not panic.

For the playstation era of games, the menu works, the shooting feels great and the game manages to keep you on your toes without fighting you with its own controls.

All and all, a -very- solid gameplay experience which is just what you would expect from the studio that brought you Resident Evil and Dino Crisis 2

Raptors. Everywhere (Sound)

One of the creepiest and most iconic sounds of my entire childhood is the noise the raptors make in this game. The sound design is superb and manages to bring all maps and dinosaurs to life. With music that is not much to go on, but -does- suit the theme of each area perfectly, the game delivers proper audio queues to both scare the shit out of you as well as keep you alert and inform you of anything approaching.

One might argue so far, that I have not spent too much time on the above subjects only stating that they are, in fact, not only legit, but actually great. That is because of the following

Getting away with it all messed up (Visuals and Story)

This.

This is where all the gold is. The visuals of the game is what separates it from the herd. Great level design, amazing visuals, horrifying dinosaurs. The story takes you through a number is weir biomes and situations as the people that are stuck in murder dino times are trying to get back home.

I cannot stress enough, how this game manages to keep you glued to the screen through every single gameplay moment, throwing dinosaurs of various difficulty at you, just to spice things up and remind you of your own mortality.

Last Will And Testament (Final Thoughts)

Play. This. Game.

Seriously I cannot stress enough how amazing the first two games of the franchise are. I would put the third one in there too, but I have not yet played it.
Great graphics, responsive controls, interesting characters and story, horrifying theme.

All in one, for your enjoyment.
