Best Game Of Our Teenage Years: Tussle Association

Best game ever

The Moment You All Been Waiting For

It is here! The time to answer the eternal question philosophers have struggled since time immemorial.
Which is the best game of our teenage years? Is it Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King? Is it Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy? Is it Age Of Empires?

Today we answer the question and put your minds at ease. We will rank those games based on
a) Replayability
b) Versatility
c) Hours of gameplay
d) Hype
e) Current State
f) Social Acceptance

Why those 6 categories? Because I could not think of ten and three seems too few for the epic size of those games
So, without further ado, lets get to it!

They Kingeth Doth Returneth

There is not much more that can be said that has not already been said already in our previous visit to the game but that wont stop us from trying!

Hectic, action packed, magical arrows, ALL the combos and insta kills, see an Uruk Hai slap him with a sword--> boom, Uruk Bye. Saruman Trolling hard? you troll harder! You release rivers, help burning ents EVEN fight ghosts, you don't care, slap that ghostly bitch in the face. Knock it down and stab its ghost kidney. You are Aragorn (or Legolas, or Gimly) you dont have time to argue!
You can even fight in the black gate, if the black gate was fought by 7 people standing in a weathertop like place! Was that in the movie? No, but fuck it, its awesome, its epic, it. is. the. best.

Rankings:

Replayability

8/10. Why 8? Because after a while you know the levels inside out, the combos perfectly and you have maxed every single character ever, at which point the game is just a senseless murder fest that you do to pass the time. Are we complaining? HELL NO!

Versatility

2/10. Why 2? Because the only versatility you get is that you can choose between pre-determined characters. Faramir is basically a reskin of Aragorn which is FOLLY. HERESY AND FOLLY. Customizing the game with mods is out of the question

Hours of gameplay

5/10. It is not bad, but with only non online co-op the game has no multiplayer to keep it going and with or without your buddy this game wont take that long to finish. Knowing the game and dying only a mandatory of minimum times, you can easily finish the game in like 2 hours. Proven Scientifically while sipping Sharokopeio trademarked booze

Hype

30/10. I will not even answer why. Read the game's title. It is the official game from the wrap up of The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Hype is an understatement

Current State

Golum/10. Its current state is crouched in a corner holding its old laurels whispering "my precious" while other more hip and trendy videogames pass by, occasionally dropping a few bucks its way

Social Acceptance

8/10. Saying you liked this game, is socially acceptable. People know of it, played it, and even if they never did, Lord Of The Rings is such a socially wide known nerdy trilogy that it is not an eyebrow raiser to say you love this game. That said however, Lotr is a very nerdy subject matter, so expect certain groups to take a few steps back as they realize you are, in fact, a nerd.

"Gimly can you please chill with killing everything please, a few of our own were there"

"I just came here to get my fucking Jedi diploma what is this Arakis bullshit?"

"Well fuck..."

"Strict vegetarian options in the Death Star? Blow it up with Force Luke!" Obi Wan Swanson

Despite the train wreck that was the article, in which I spent more time being hyped and excited about the game than actually showcasing the game. So lets rant some more!

Playing as a potential Jedi that happens to have crippling self esteem issues, luck your way through the entire campaign as you dismantle the cult of Marka Ragnos. And by luck your way through, I mean literally have the worst luck imaginable even for Jedi standards and then proceed to ignore all the weapons the game gives you in abundance and instead just use your lightsaber to perform free surgeries on people of the sort that I paid a significant amount via insurance and had to be hospitalized for 22 days. FOR FREE. (Cut their arms and legs off, is what I mean, in case the joke went over someone's head)

Choose from a vast array of force powers, then have Luke Skywalker passively aggressively comment on them like a lil bitch while ignoring the fact your best friend and student of his academy tries to kill you MORE THAN ONCE, as well as the fact that Kyle Katarn is the worse teacher ever, and instead just plunges you into suicidal missions. I mean OFF COURSE I will learn how to drain the living life force out of people's eye sockets and then force choke a bitch Luke! Every time I exit the academy I get swarmed by angry people and force cultists wanting to rip me to shreds, what would you have me do?

That is until you realize the light side force powers are OP as FUCK and then you just have him praise your Jedi holiness, again ignoring the fact you leave rooms covered in blood and severed body parts like some psycho madman with a lightsaber.

POINT TIME:

Replayability

10/10. With custom Jedi, lightsaber styles, force power combos and off course the branching path (light and dark) means you will play this game, again, and again, AND AGAIN. I wont even put Mods into consideration at this point. Just saying

Versatility

50/10. OH MY GOD, this game's mod compatibility is off the charts. I swear, you can install the normal game, then spent a few hours searching mods, and make your own game which has nothing to do with what the game developers initially made. Its like a build-a-bear but instead of cuddly plushies you make lightsaber murder!

Hours of gameplay

5/10. Why 5 and not 10? because the amount of time I spent, is embarrassingly long. Lets leave it at that

Hype

2/10. Sadly, unless you were following the games or had a friend to introduce you to it, you would not have heard about it. Star Wars Extended Universe was not something us teenagers were -that- much into, especially with the game being released around the time of the prequels and having nothing to do with them

Current State

7/10. Its that old man that reliably hangs around at your favorite bar and will gladly share a drink with you. It may be old, it may look ugly, but when those hip and trendy Assassins Creeds abandon you to go jerk off the major publishers with their DLC's, there he is, patiently waiting, always eager to welcome you with his mods, and fun gameplay. Not to mention that buying it from GoG means that it will always run on your system, like 90% of the time

Social Acceptance

10/10. Star Wars is a craze that everyone knows. Even those non nerdy heathen types, they know of it. Most of them probably like it. Saying you like this game, might get you an awkward "what the fuck are you talking about" look, but it is easier for people to accept you like light saber fighting games and still not be a nerd. You might actually get a few interested questions by people wanting to try it out.

And The Winner Is:

Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy

Honestly is this a surprise for anyone? Don't get me wrong, I love both games, however the sheer amount of hours sunk into this game, the multiplayer modes that give it a significant boost in the hours you can spend, playing it as well as the Mod support, makes it reign supreme.

With action, a fun story, customizable characters and the mod support, this game was a well of hours I tossed into it growing up.

Lightsabers and the Force have won over Steel and Magic this day folks!
